Caribbean Manatee
Food Chain
The Caribbean manatee eat manatee grass, turtle grass, water lettuce, shoal grass, mangrove leaves, various algae, water hyacinth, acorns, hydrilla, planted rice, fish, and weeds. They are given elephant vitamins to help them be strong. Most Caribbean manatees are herbivores that means they eat only plants. Some are omnivores that means they eat plants and animals. Caribbean Manatee’s Predators are sharks, alligators, crocodiles, jaguars, and caimans. They stay away from plants that are toxic to them. Manatees can eat many things but, many things can eat it.
